EVGA GTX 560 Ti Single 12V

Thread Starter
So, my mate just bought himself one of these cards, and silly me I didn't even ask him if he had more than one 12V rail.

He's currently got a 'Besta PT750' PSU with apparently only one 12V Rail.
The GTX 560 has two 12V rail inputs on the side.

I was wondering if it's possible to run it on only one rail?

Cheers

Most PSU's have only one rail, typically if it meets the power requirements it has enough amps per rail. Mine has 1 12v rail and I am running 2 6850's. Friend has a 1 12v rail 1200w for his tri gtx 480's.

Amount of power connectors and amount of rails on a PSU have pretty much nothing to do with each other. Many of the very high wattage PSUs are single rail as well. For example my AX1200 has only one 12V rail and I run a gtx 590 @ 100% load 24/7

As longs as the rail in question can provide enough amps it should be fine.

Okay, thanks guys. I was under the same impression.
Unfortunately I'm not there with him, so I can't oversee it all.

Think he might be ******* it up. Haha, thanks for the input.

How many amps does that +12V rail provide? That "Besta" PSU could turn into a "Worsta", if you know what I mean.

I have no clue, haven't seen his computer before, let alone inside. I also couldn't find the unit online at all either....

Not sure how many amps mine has, I tore off the stickers so I don't know the model, tis what happens when you cut out cables and heat shrink the ends to meet your specific needs.
