My 1090T can only manage 3.9 ghz at 1.45v, why?

I have seen 1055Ts at 4ghz at only 1.4v, is mine just crap or am I doing something wrong.

I can get to 3.72 ghz at 1.325v but for that 200 mhz more i need 1.125v and cant even manage 4ghz

Every CPU is different. Some won't take very much to get to 4GHz, whereas yours can't even hit it. It's just the luck of the draw.

However, if I were you, I'd get the CPU-NB as high as possible same with the RAM. What's your NB at anyway?

i was at 3720 with 2640 nb and ram at 1600, 6-8-6-20-1t, that was the only one which was fully stable and it required hardly any volts, im almost stable at 3.8ghz 3 ghz nb 1333 6-7-6-20, but only 6 hours prime95.

im testing 3.9ghz 1.45v which seems to be stable but cannot get to 4ghz, any more votlage and my cooler wont be able to deal with it

You'll actually see more performance going with the higher NB and RAM frquencies than trying to wring out every last MHz out of the CPU.

Like I said before, I'd try to get the NB as high as possible with the highest RAM frequency with the best timings.

Yeh i know that, im just trying to get CPU as high as possible at the moment, i know for a fact i can get 3000mhz nb, but i find it ridiculous this CPU can manage 520 mhz over stock with an extra 0.025v, but cant manage 800 mhz more with an extra 0.15v

That's just the way it goes unfortunately. Some CPUs' simply OC better than others. It seems as though you've found the point at where it just needs tons of voltage and even then is not stable.

It reminds me of an Opteron I had, would OC 700MHz with almost adding no voltage (1.8 to 2.5), but to get it to go another 100MHz required tons of voltage. When in the same right, a member had the same model Opteron that could hit 3.0GHz no problem with .05v over stock.

It just matter where on the wafer the chip was. Typically the closer to the center of the wafer the better they OC.

My old 1090 did only 3.8 on 1.48v.....my 1100T will do 3.9 @ 1.40...had to bump up the voltage to 1.45 to hit 4.0

It's the combination of your CPU being little worse than others, and the fact you're running too high temps. Phenom IIs scale with temps. As you go higher in temperatures, the power consumption starts to increase exponentially. Same with going lower, it starts to go down, rapidly.

my 1090T is in the same boat... I just went back to stock for now. well sorta... i have turbocore set to 3.9Ghz for 5 cores.

I can get to 3.9Ghz with 1.44v, but no amount of tweaking gave me a 4.0Ghz stable. I took the volts to 1.48v but temps got out of control.

The upside to how i have it for now is core is at 24C at idle and cpu is about 35C. At load it is at 32C and 42C respectively.
