Yea I'm in Aus, but with that site you linked, after postage, it becomes within $100 of a 580. Also, it's a fair bit of money to spend online, and my local stores are selling it for quite a bit cheaper.

Here's the price list of one of my local stores that has pretty good prices: http://www.pcdiy.com.au/pricelist/pricelist.pdf

Generally, from looking at past threads about 570 vs 580 (price vs performance) there are a lot of mixed opinions, however I get the feeling that people generally favour the 570 as it is cheaper. This is a really tough decision though seeing as the difference in price is not really that big in the grand scheme of things.

Like I said before, I don't actually have my rig yet, nor have I ordered or purchased a graphics card. So I'm wondering where I should go to begin with, 570 or 580.

go with 570, later on buy another 570 for cheap, then in a few years upgrade again

Yea I think you're right. Putting aside the psychological appeal of having the best of the best in the 580, the 570 is still a great card. Also, I would assume that comparing a 570 TF III to a reference 580 wouldn't result in much of a performance difference. I think I'll just suck it up and wait until my local shop get in the 570 TF III; it's going to be a long couple of weeks :/
