Can I setup something on the bios and than will the windows software exp Fan Xpert override it? I am worried for 2 pump just cooling cpu in a pretty small loop there would be too much pressure and maybe cause a leak from it? lol

You're not going to cause a leak from having 2 pumps unless you have a really bad seal somewhere. This is why you do leak tests. And yes, the Windows software should override the BIOS settings. That's how it works with my MSI board and I can't imagine that yours is any different.

I really like keeping my pumps free from software control and off the motherboard.I simply think it is safer that way (meaning less chance for a loss of power to the pump).Sure there are overtemp shutdowns but I would hate it to go that far.In a watercooling component test station I am making I am including amp meters to monitor pump amperage draw, before you say overkill remember it is a test station and I want to see the influence of different loop designs on pump load.

The BIOS has limited options for controlling pump speed. However when you set up Fan Xpert it overrides the BIOS settings and then continues to use those Fan Xpert settings even before Windows loads. I'm not quite sure how that works. If for some reason the PWM signal is lost if, say the cable becomes disconnected, then it fail safes to running at full speed.

This is a rough guide to the Fan Xpert settings. I still haven't figured out how 'Intelligent' works:

Disable – Pump runs at 100% speed.

Standard – Depends how the pumps are calibrated by the software but mine is set to run at 21% until the CPU temp hits 30ºC then increase the pump speed* in a linear fashion as the temperature increase to a maximum of 100% at 60ºC.

Silent – Same as Standard except the pump runs at 21% until the temp hits 40ºC and reaches the full speed* of the pump at a lower temp

Turbo – Same as Standard except the pump runs at 21% until the temp hits 23ºC and reaches the full speed* of the pump at a lower temp

Intelligent – The parameters on this seem to change each time I boot up but it scales up the pumps speed in a linear fashion until it hits a predetermined temp then scales up in a steeper curve hitting 100% pump speed* at about 38ºC. As I mentioned though this seems to change after every restart.

Stable – Pump runs at 50% PWM speed which on my system equates to about 90% of the pump’s rated speed.

User – You can configure your own temperature/pump speeds with 3 configuration options e.g. run at 21% until the temp hits 50º then ramp up to 50% until it hits 60ºC when it then goes to 100% PWM speed. But you can also have linear increase between each of those 3 options.

*Note though that the PWM percentage speed doesn’t match the pump speeds. On my system I hit 100% of the pumps rated speed at about 55% of the PWM speed and the lowest setting of 21% equates to a pump speed of about 1600rpm which is about 38% of the pumps rated speed. It might sound confusing but it’s obvious once you’ve played about with it that it’s simple to use.

Thanks Big Elf for the info you have put out and to everyone else. Yeah I finally got a updated version of Fan Xpert off somewhere. I still read a few places on the programs not working well etc etc but I guess I will have to anyways. Some of my extra hardware came in yesterday and only waiting on Frozenq's 3rd replacement Dual Bay Reservoir to come in and than I'am able to finally start on this project since buying pretty much all my parts months ago lol.
