Fallout 3 or New Vegas? + Mods?

Thread Starter
I tried out the stalker shadow of chernobyl with the complete mod but it freaked me out too much!

But I liked the open world style with lots going on so I was going to give fallout 3 or new vegas a shot. Which one is better you guys think?

Also any recommendations for graphics enhancement mods that wont bring my sig rig to its knees?

Start with Fallout 3 for sure. NV can be a bit complicated without some experience in the series. They are both very awesome games.

I liked 3 better.

Start with Fallout 3, especially if you get GOTY. It's longer and better. Besides that, New Vegas is confusing if you don't understand the basics already.

I personally just finished Fallout 3 about 2 weeks ago.

Great game. You will not regret playing it.

I will be starting New Vegas somewhere down the line.

Both are awesome - I would grab Fallout 3 - more mods/better mods, better in general. FNV is fun as well, but you have to have project nevada to make it fun.

I have to say I like NV better than fallout 3. They are both great, and you can't go wrong with either. I like the atmosphere in NV over fallout 3, just seemed more true to the original 2.

I played all of Fallout NV, including DLCs, before starting Fallout 3 which I have yet to complete. I love both games, even with the bugs. To me, the games have been so immersive that I didn't bother with mods, buy I may replay with mods at a later date. If you find yourself enjoying the story, read the Fallout Wiki for more insight on some of the events. Few games have held my interest to this degree. Good luck.
