Bro, your 580's are still awesome.

Unless your filthy rich I'd skip the 600 series and probably even the 700 series.

I'd wait for Maxwell if I were you, or if you're itching that much sell the 580's and get 780's.

I know, I know but ever since building this rig I have been addicted to having power that I don't need. I know I don't need 680s but something inside my head is telling me I need them.

Some people have a little devil that tells them to do bad things, mine just tells me to spend more money.

I will fight them off!

Kepler will not be here until at least March. AMD taped out their GPU well before nVidia.

You mean march, right? Any way, don't expect to see any new cards before 2012. The production volumes are still fairly small and OEM's get their steaks first.

Not that production is anywhere where it should be (I heard something like 10.000 wafers @ 28nm before the end of the year...that are shared among a loooooooooooooooot of companies), so lets relax.

Just in case I have on my way another GTX460 1GB so I can keep playing for the time being, although I'm sure that this next gen is going to be VERY powerful, provided they don't screw up like they did with 40nm; but if they don't, we could keep power requirements but double performance, that big is this jump

Depends if you're talking fiscal calendar or not. Nvidia's fiscal Q1 ends around the beginning of May.

Provided nvidia doesn't have to do a respin on Kepler, March is the earliest it could be released. AMD taped out early enough to launch in December if they can get the capacity from TSMC.
