Apple has been giving iOS updates to their iPhone users since the first iPhone. Now, that is absolutely great customer support.

Name one android product which has consistently received updates for that long.

What kind of a strong lead are you talking about? You can't provide any real numbers at all. Anytime someone posts a real world benchmark you cry foul and post to some random youtube video. Opera is out for iOS as well by the way. And most Android users actually USE the stock browser.

You guys said the exact same thing about Tegra 2 and that never materialized. It's funny how you rationalize away Apple's strongpoints though. Infinity Blade makes good use of the GPU. Not many other apps do yet because the phone just came out. Are there any apps at all that make use of ANY gpu for android that more than 3 people have downloaded?

I agree and have been saying that all along, and that's why Apple users are for more satisfied with their phone than Android users.

<snip>

That's not zero shutter lag, but I'll take YOUR word for it though.
I'm no expert but I don't believe that has anything to do with zero shutter lag. From a brief read zero shutter lag is the time after taking the photo that it is captured. When you hit the button it captures the photo instantly and then about a second to half a second later your photo is saved to disk. I could be wrong but here's the quote:

Quote:
Shutter lag – the delay between taking a photo and capturing the actual image – is a common problem on many mobile devices and digital still cameras.
The Nexus seems to have a half a second or so delay (like the iPhone 4S) when taking a photo before you see it pop up at the bottom right.

AFAIK, Android manufacturers don't turn their phones into iPod's music players.

The HTC Rezound might interest you, since it comes with Beats Audio but again, it's a phone.
http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/03/h...ound-unveiled/

You can always sell your iPhone 4S and buy a Galaxy Nexus.

I'll let you know my review when I get mine, I promise, it won't be biased.

OT: I still haven't got the 4S, I actually wanted to play with it just so I could have a hands on experience with both, and truly say I had both to play with before making my final decision.

Pretty sure the Nexus would still win in the end, due to the bigger screen, flexibility, Ice Cream Sandwich looks delicious, I find IOS boring. Plus, I can't get over the fact that the iPhone 4S screen is the same size as my iPod's, and browsing the web on that is so painful.
Haha, I'll never sell my 4S. It would be cool to try one but I'd rather experience it on an iPod touch like device, rather than a phone I'll have to use. I'll look forward to the review of the Nexus.

I've been playing Rage, Infinity Blade, and a few basic TDs. The former two look absolutely amazing. Rage hasn't even been updated to make use of the better graphics to my knowledge.

That might be true but you did quote this videos in response saying that this shows the SGS2 being faster.

Doesn't matter if the CPU is at a slower clock speed. Fact of the matter is, is that it is still slower then hardware released over half a year before its release. Hardware doesn't really matter in the end, it is the performance and how it is used that counts.
I didn't realise that was the stock browser however, it may very well be that the other browsers are faster but by exactly how much is only fair to say when we see a good comparison.

There's no other AI out there that understands context is there? That's the whole thing about Siri.
Remember Vista and Win7? Vista has DX11 support. Why give a dated OS a new API? But they did.

Apple's to Oranges, get it? Pun intended. This is what Apple does best.

I agree there's absolutely no reason that they would keep it away from the iPhone 4, except of course to force iPhone 4 owners to side grade if they want SIRI.

I said this originally when we found out that Apple killed off the original SIRI app:
http://www.overclock.net/hardware-ne...dy-killed.html

The usual suspects chimed in with many claims, including that the hardware on the iPhone 4 couldn't run it, some went as far as saying that SIRI was very GZU dependant, or that the A5 made all the difference.
Tell me exactly why it's wrong that Apple hasn't put Siri on the iPhone 4?

Because the original app was removed. Don't you know anything about Apple?

The free Siri app was a interface to the Siri servers running proprietary software. Without the servers the app does nothing. Apple bought the company, servers, software, made many people rich, and Siri on the 4s is greatly improved.

Could "free Siri" have handled 10s of millions of new users? "Free Siri" was a proof of concept without a path to $.

Google shut down goog-411, your point?

Nope, $ is the objective. All that crap about "the customer is first" is just to gain consumer confidence in the hopes that it'll put their mind at ease when purchasing said product/service.

Funny, Samsung has more sales then Apple. That is just one company that makes android phones. Must be pretty good if they surpassed Apple.
That's because they make at the very least several new smartphones per year that are all different, varying in screen size, design, and so on, which appeals to different people. It's expected that they'll have more phones than a company that produces one new phone yearly, and sells two older models. Apple's doing pretty well considering.

I'm well aware of that but it isn't exactly clear in this thread why 2010 and others are saying it's Apple "withholding features".

The app featured on the App Store was incredibly limited. 4Siri is a year and a half more advanced than that app, and is directly integrated into the iPhone to offer plenty of services.

You might want to bash them for removing the app but you can hardly call it withholding features.
