how do you mean topdog?
i've been binning 311XBXXX batches and they actually averaged just 52x max multi

and it was all newegg was peddling me. my 57x was 310CXXX (older chip) not from egg.

however newer batches do seem to need lower voltage for anything at or bellow 5ghz.. it's just that max multi stinks.. no scaling with volts and cold of course

4.8 @ 1.36 is damn nice. Mine can run 4.8 @ 1.35 all day long, but my temps are no where near what you're seeing. I've got a run 5.0 @ 1.43 run going again and if I don't have to log into work, I plan to let it go all night to get a 12+ hour run logged. I've gone past 8 hours twice, but had to cut it short due to work.

Keep pressing on and good luck!

What a waste on these chips. I bought my 2500k after 6 months of watching the 5ghz club. I looked at the spread sheet and seen what batches were getting the highest overclocks with the lowest temps. L041 was the key batches. When I went to Microcenter to get my chip they had newer ones up to L115 batch. I got my 2500k L041, it's 5ghz 1.392v 15hr prime stable. The newer ones don't seem any better than the early ones to me.

I can run 4.8ghz at 1.320v and didn't really try going lower. I went higher clock.

Got some screens of Prime running that? This is what I want to see from these chips. Can you show 2hrs of prime running showing you load temps?

Impressive if thats p95 stable! Mine failed after 5 hours today at 1.39v and 4.8ghz...this chip is average at best. If it was a 2600k i would keep it, but the fact its released as being better than that in my opinion leaves me feeling ripped off.

Ill return it and bin some 2600k's I think.

Oh also i could boot at 5.3ghz and 1.51v, but I dont think it would have been stable for me.

I should have mine testing by this weekend. I hope I have better luck than you've had, but really, if I can get good temps, decent voltage, and 4.8, I guess I'll be happy. It seems that Intel is developing a track record of early silicon being the best. The earliest batches of new steppings "seem" to have the best OC potential based upon anecdotal evidence anyway. I'll bet that you won't do any better on a newer 2600K and I hope you don't do worse and get a 2600K limited to 4.6. Bummer.
