Currently in the process of a major system upgrade and still waiting for some parts to arrive but I've managed to snag an early 2700K with batch L131B581. I think this is from the first week in August so fingers crossed it's a good overclocker.

I'll be watercooling so I'm hoping for a min 5ghz from this wheee.gif

Once the build is complete I'll post some results!

Haven't had much time to get everything working, but I did turn on OC Tuner in Bios on my Asus P8Z68v-Pro GEN 3 and it set a target turbo core of 4013 which is a 39 multiplier and 103 BCLK. Voltage with P95 running seems to jump from 1.24 to 1.248. I've noticed that most 2600Ks get auto set to 4400 with OC Tuner. Not sure why this chip is auto overclocking so low.

Anyway, brief testing shows I'm getting 4.5 GHz at 1.275 vcore with LLC set to Ultra High in Prime Blend. I'll let that run all day today. I let it run all night but only got about 1.5 hours because I forgot to turn off hibernation. rolleyes.gif I'm following Munaim1's brief oc tutorial in the sandy stable thread. I tried running custom Prime with 1792, but got a failure after 5 minutes at 1.265. Anyway, if 1.275 is stable, I think that's a good start, no?

So, you have one from the same week as me. What are your results so far? Mine are listed in the post above.

I think they may be cherrypicked after all. Problem is that they are evaluated at stock frequencies, i.e. below 4 GHz.

That could mean that 2700K can have a bit lower power consumption than 2600K at some lower frequency (4 GHz?). And beyond this frequency normal probability distribution begins. That means that you can easily find 2700K that overclocks worse at very high frequencies than 2600K.

ON AVERAGE 2700K may overclock a bit better than 2600K at high frequencies, but to make an advantage from this you could need to buy hundreds of 2700K to see any diference compared to 2600K.

So practically if you buy one 2700K, chance that it will overclock better that some "standard average 2600K" is quite small.
