If I buy another 2600k, will it prolly not be a good ocer because Intel is taking all of them and selling them as 2700k?

Got 12 hours stable in Prime Blend @4.8 Ghz with voltage at 1.385 and LLC on Ultra High, PLL @1.7 but PLL Overvoltage on Auto). I'd like to get this voltage down some like you guys running 4.8 at 1.360. Is that stable for 12 hours? For kicks, I tried 5.0 with 1.42, that's not happening. Here's a link to my submission into the Sandy Stable Club.

http://www.overclock.net/t/968053/official-the-sandy-stable-club-benchmarks-stable-rigs-guides-inc-spreadsheet/5430#post_15651897

Like the original poster though, I'm thinking of ditching this thing. $369.99 should get a better chip in my opinion. Only problem is Newegg only does CPU replacements. I'm definitely going to buy the first Ivy Bridge I can get my hands on, so I may be better off just holding on to this one and selling it then. Restocking fees will kill me! You guys have any opinions on that?

Jesus Christ! You haven´t tested it yet!

YOU CANNOT USE PPL AUTO FOR HIGH OVERCLOCKS!
YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT ENABLED!

Oh, i've been testing all week. Lots of failures. 4.5@1.275, 4.8@1.375.... A lot of people recommend no PPL overvoltage unless you're ar 5.0. Think that on my board auto turns it on at anything above 4.5 because I did get stability on auto once when I had it disabled before and crashed. I'll see if it makes a difference. About ditching it, I probably wont since ivy is coming so soon. I'm definitely gonna try to get one of the first ones available. It just angers me when I keep seeing people bragging on their 5.0@1.375 or 4.8@1.290. Check the rest of the thread. Id be very happy at 4.6@1.360 like couple of other people have.

This is an official ASUS advice:
Quote:
Internal PLL Overvoltage: Using Core frequency multipliers in excess of 45X may need a setting of “Enabled”.

So please enable it.

PLL overvoltage has to be enabled when the cpu is up around it's multi wall, & it's dependent on the cpu. Some need it enabled to run over 45x, others don't need it until 48x, or 52x, etc.
So, it's up to the cpu. Doesn't automatically need to be enabled on every machine running over 45x.

So you say that if CPU can run max. 53x, you need PPL enabled just around this multiplier? Well my 2600K did not behave this way. It really needed that at 45. And then it could go to 53.
Not the absolute max, as you say there's a max you can run it without pll overvoltage & then after enabling it can run higher. These 2 points can be different for every cpu though, was just pointing out that not every cpu needs it enabled when going over 45x.
My first 2500k would do 51x without pll overvoltage enabled, needed to enable it to run from 51x to 55x. I had another 2500k that did need it enabled to go over 45x.
My lucky 2600k can run up to 53x without enabling it.
