Just messing around in Second Life for now with ultra settings,my high temps are around 58c.

You've got a nice chip there. I'm jealous. I booted into Windows at 5.0 with voltage at 1.42, but it wasn't stable at all in prime 95. How are you checking stability? Have any Prime95 12 hour Blends?

yea seems like i got a decent one but im not gona try and run it at over 5Ghz all the time lol I got it 3 1/2 hours prime with no errors at 4.5Ghz atm and the temps are pretty good with 1.288v maxing at 68c-69c-68c-66c under load and 35c-34c-32c-33c idle so im pretty happy with it atm
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2101058

I just wish the bus speeds was sorted out on these MSI G3 boards to stay at 100MHz

Maybe i'll try a 12 hour prime at 5.1Ghz if i get a 12 hour gap of not needing to use my computer smile.gif

You can use computer while you are priming. At least mine run both with 2500K and 2600K smoothly. It does not work well when loaded with IBT or LINX.

BTW 12 or more hour runs are not neccesary at all. It is just CPU torture. Rational thing to do is to find, that e.g. your chip is 1 hour stable at 1.4V and 5 GHz, and then give it a little safety voltage bump of 0.03V, or run it at 4.9 and 1.4 .

I cant play Second Life while running prime.. is it safe to watch a video in full screen while running prime? And the 12 hour thing was just to get in the Sandy Stable Club tongue.gif

Still D2, Stepping 7, same as the rest. Probably no difference between these and the 2600ks.

Possibly some binning for power usage, but 100Mhz isn't going to shoot the voltage up much anyways.

Man, that seems like high volts for that speed. We've got others claiming 4.8 at 1.290, 1.360, mine takes 1.385 at 4.8. These 2700ks are all over the place. Some are better than golden 2600ks and some are worse than average 2600ks. Sandybridge is still a crapshoot.

True on the crap-shoot. Seems some vendors may be getting "cherry" picked chips, but us normal users are rolling the dice.

Yea, that does seem a little high for 2700K. My 2600K does 4.8 with 1.35v and 5.0 with 1.4. No time for a 12+ hour Prime run at 5.0, but have passed the 9 hour mark a few times before having to use the PC for work.
