Crucial M4 128GB Alignment

Thread Starter
I will be installing Windows 7 in a GPT partition on my Crucial M4 128GB SSD. Does this type of partition still benefit from manually setting the alignment? And what is the best alignment for this?

I believe the "new" alignment that seems to be best is 4096 for SSDs and HDs.

How do you manually set alignment prior to install?

How do I do it with a GPT partition style in my SSD? Please don't say GPT is not needed, I know but eventually every HDD/SSD will be GPT in the future. GPT creates three partitions by default so how do I implement the 4096 alignment to that?

Why is 4096 also applicable for modern HDDs? Is my HDD (Spinpoint F3) considered modern for this matter?
