Is it true the razer control mat is faster than the speed?

This what i have heard on the internet.

Any truth?
Never seen a proof for that, but alot says that it is...

Sure is.

Control = Low friction for low sensitivity users
Speed = More friction for high sensitivity users

According to Razer anyway. Terrible naming of the products, based on the assumption all low sens users want slippery mats and vice versa for high sens users.

yep. try to push your mouse with your finger. watch it glide on the control mat compared to the speed mat coz it has far less friction

That's not true. I have both versions of the Goliathus and the control has way more friction than the speed.

Confirmed. I have both versions of the Razer Mantis (precursor to the Goliathus) and the control has a lot more friction.

I own the Razer Vespula mat and the smooth side is wicked fast compared to the rougher side. In combination with the Razer Naga Epic and I am fast on either side but if I run on the smooth side it is almost 2 fast for my needs especially since I have the sensitivity tweaked higher anyway. .

The speed pad is a smoother texture. In the end, the glide is mainly mouse feet dependent.

I got goliathus control and planning to buy zowie mico, and since goliathus control got quite a lot of friction and mico got just 4 little dot pads, i am worried that glide won't be really good, and i want as best as possible. So maybe it's worth buying something from zowie's mousepads for better glide or it's just going to be wasted money?

Meh. If, when you get the mouse, it turns out to be a big issue, then buy a new mousepad. I've found I can use either one and it doesn't make a difference for me personally. I wouldn't worry about it.
