Is it true the razer control mat is faster than the speed? - Page 2

I just bought the goliathus control to go with a razer deathadder black and it's considerably more rough than my QcK. I don't like it at all. The best way I can describe the texture is a more canvas/weave/micro-waffle type pattern versus the smooth microfiber-like QcK. To me it looks/feels like a cheap floormat; As popular as it is I fail to understand how people like it. To top it off the lift off distance is three times as high on the goliathus as it is on the qck.

So maybe it's worth buying something from zowie's mousepads for better glide or it's just going to be wasted money?
From what I understand, if you want glide from a cloth pad, the PureTrak Talent is the way to go. Mine is in the mail, eager to see how it stacks up to it's fame.

If you wanted a pad with glide you should have got the speed edition. The control edition is rough to provide more control, as the name would imply.

Mantis control and speed are named properly, and should adhear to their name in all situations. Apparently the names are backward for the goliathus, but some same it depends specifically on which kind of feet you're using mouse wise. I have the spawn and find the speed offers more control, funnily enough.

I've got the Razer exactMat and the speed side is definitely faster.
On a side note I would not recommend using the control side as it completely wore down my Razer diamondback 'feet'

Is any of this true?? Isn't the speed of your mouse based off of the dpi settings

I have the mantis control and speed. The control is significantly rougher than the speed. I'm not sure if that's what you're saying or if you're saying the opposite.

They are not backwards on the Goliathus. I have both versions, the control has much more texture and the speed has much more glide.
