Ken, any idea why only 1100ish vram would be used> that seems particularly odd, and rather annoying if true seeing as my system also tells me i have 4+gb of ram free, yet i cant even start the game without 4gb of page file

I have a total of 9.5 GB VRAM in my system, will check later how Windows managed the VRAM with RAM and virtual memory. Possibly, also another 9.5GB for swapping for whatever reasons.

Which is still 2GB per gpu, is it not? I don't see how that fixes anything at this point.

What are your specs? What cards give you a combined total of 9.5GB? I've got 9GB (3GB per card).

Damn Ken what Mobo are you running and PSU? I am going to buy another mobo to run 3 cards soon. Not sure if I want to wait for the 7970's or 7990's

I was always under the impression that it (crossfire/sli) only used 1 gpu with of memory. This theory of 3400 worth of vram doesn't seem to sit with what I thought was well established lore of multi-gpu scaling.

Maybe its reading the page file too? I'm sorry it it was posted already, but what program are you getting these results from?

It does use only 1 gpu worth of memory, the question is whether it is reading the memory usage for all cards when reporting in gpuz and afterburner.

There is also system shared memory, and page file, so once Ken looks at his we might be able to get some more comparisons. System shared memory size is based off vram size, page file if system managed is based off ram size. Mine runs 8gb page file, 3830mb system shared memory, and usage in afterburner i had seen up to 3400mb ish. That was with eyefinity running, havent looked since going to 1 screen
