GTX 590 avg FPS Mafia 2 seem bad

Hello Everyone,

I think I am having an issues with my gtx 590 setup. I have an evga gtx 590 classified with stock clocks. My setup is 1000w coolermaster silent pro, msi x58 pro-E mobo, 9gb ddr3 patriot ram @ 1333mhz, intel i7 930 @ 2.8ghz windows 7 professional with evga gtx 590 + evga gtx 560ti for physx. When I run the benchmark with everything maxed out at 1920x1080 I only get an avg of 47.5 fps which gives me a C rank on mafia 2 benchmark. Does anyone else seem to have this problem? I don't believe anything is bottlenecking my system but I am open to any thoughts.

why do you have a 560ti? your 590 can do physx just fine on it's second core.

My 2c would be that the 560ti is causing issues.

The 560ti brought it up that high, it was only doing 35 fps without it at first. the game runs smoothly but the benchmark troubles me. The gtx 560ti has improved performance in all my physx games.

Do you have the latest Mafia II patch? I got lousy performance in the Demo of Mafia, but the full version gave me good results.

So wait.. the game runs smoothly but the benchmark troubles you?
Isn't the point of the game to play it? If it runs smoothly don't worry about the benchmark ... its completely meaningless.
Also, you should OC your CPU to at least 3.6Ghz and you'll see a decent improvement.

Anything higher than a gtx 560ti is overkill for physx processing and anything under a gtx 260 will bottleneck my setup. I have tried many different setups. i used a GT9500, GTS8800, GTX 470, GTX 260 and a GTX 560ti for dedicated physx benchmarking and the 560ti gave the best results. The 590 does well on its own but a dedicated physx card is needed when playing games like metro 2033, mafia 2, batman arkham asylum and some other titles. But everywhere else I look people seem to be getting better bench results. Unless they are lying lol.

Possibly because he sunk 1000's of dollars into a system and isn't even getting 60 fps in a game that isn't very hard to run?

Just a thought.

lol something like that. The game runs smooth but for the amount I put into it it can run better I believe. Plus I have heard people saying there benches were better than mine and they are running things like a gtx 480 with a 275 for physx.
