I'll be getting either a U2410 or U2711 so, at the minimum, I'll be supporting 1920x1200 which will hurt my FPS all the more. My question is, should I CF with another 6950 or perhaps trade in for an nVIDIA card? From the looks of it, the drivers and support from nvidia look to be better.

My only concern is the apparent problems game are having utilizing crossfire setups? Thus, my reasoning for getting a single nvidia card. Any question, comments or suggests would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Umm i dont know what my fps is but i play ultra settingsan its smoooooooooth, haha to think i am buyin 2500K on friday for gaming.

I'll look into OC'ing it and no shader unlock yet. Wanted to see what I got out of stock (not much atm).

My CPU is OC'd to 4.2, for what it's worth.
Your CPU is fine, mines at 4ghz and I get the same benchmarks as the review sites...

One thing you might want to consider is the spacing on your motherboard for your PCIE slots. Things might get awfully toasty if you are running two reference cards sandwiched together. I have quite a bit separating mine and even at that my top GPU still runs a good 5-8 degrees warmer.

Another thought, if you do upgrade to something bigger and badder, it will likely be a GTX 580, look at the benchmarks, there isnt that large of a difference between the 580 and 6950. You could sell your current 6950 for maybe $200, then you have to spend another $200ish to get a GTX 580, worth it? I wouldnt...

So if I go the xfire route, I'll need to pick up another 6950. My reference model Sapphire card has since been discontinued so what could I use to give me the best xfire experience knowing that I won't have 2 of the same exact cards?

IMO pick-up a Sapphire TOXIC edition, or MSI PE/OC TwinFrozrIII 2GB, or at the very least the Sapphire DIRT3 edition.

In that order ... each card has the Dual Bios w/ shader Unlock Bios in Position #2 ON THE CARD, so shouldn't need to FLASH, and all 3 OC fairly well, so they should all be a decent match with a REF HD-6950.

The TOXIC would be the closet MATCH to a REF model look if that's at all important for the aesthetics of the appearance inside your rig btw.

BUT you should be running BF3 at higher FPS than that, even on ULTRA, just turn off the stupid MSAA, you don't need it to look THAT pretty when PERFORMANCE is what you're after and an Unlocked & Overclocked HD-6950 SHOULD be at, near or even BEAT the performance levels of a stock GTX-580, so no need to go to nVidia.

I know on ULTRA, the nVidia cards pull ahead, but that's ONLY with the MSAA setting enabled also, so just turn THAT off, you won't notice much of difference with the LOOKS of the game, yet your performance should be better, which is REALLY what we all want anyways right ?
