this is a nice headset. Course the small problem is you need phantom power for the microphone, and a few hundred dollars on the microphone alone is silly for things like skype/teamspeak/ventrillo.

But yeah, for the best headphone quality and a mic that sounds okay on compressed voice chat your best bet is a 20 dollar microphone and a separate pair of nice stereo headphones.

Well after reading alot of articles i think it might all may boil down to these 2 options.

1. Wait for the Razer chimaera 5.1 and keep my soundblaster X-fi soundcard. I have only read positive things about the chimaera 5.1

2. I could buy an Asus xonar D2X soundcard and a pair of Sennheiser RS170 and then some cheap wired microphone to when i need chat.

In option 2 im not entirely sure if the RS170 are the right choice in that pricerange but they seem to get alot of positive response in tests.

Edit.: Just talked to my boss and it seems he can arrange a bran new pair of Sennheiser HD598 for only 170$ Now i wonder if i should forget about all i talked about and get these just for the sound quality. Ofcourse also the Xonar soundcard but i guess i need a HP amp. for these.
