Have had Skyrim pre-ordered since the day it popped up on Steam.

Very, very excited. Do not care what anyone says at this point, I will be playing that game until my eyes and fingers are bleeding.

Personally I used to say gameplay was all that mattered, but that was back in 1998-2000, it's 2011. There is no reason we can't have both, except for the fact that consoles are severely outdated, and lazy developers continue to port.

This is what we get with games released for hardware that came out in 2005, and wasn't even considered top end at that time.

I will get the game after it has been patched, and the modding community gets going on it. Assuming the gameplay warrants it. I just don't believe we should have to settle for one or the other, a good game should come out of the box with both gameplay, and visual quality.

Eh, my first TES game was Oblivion and i thoroughly enjoyed it. The modding community was also very addictive and gave me endless hours of fun.

I don't expect Skyrim to be any different.

Two problems that bother me with Skyrim:

1. There's no item durability anymore ie: item's won't break. Now for the life of me i don't understand why they removed this completely. They could've at least just toned it down a little so they don't break as often if it bugged them that much.

2. If you can befriend dragons, why on earth can't you ride them? I'm not saying the player should be able to fly on one whenever they please, but at least give them the option of using them say, i dunno, once every game week or so and making it an event. (After all, if the player can fly around on them like WoW players do on their mounts, it kinda takes away the epicness)

Honestly, considering how active the TES modding community is, you probably won't have to wait for more than a week or so.
That's more than likely second on modders to-do list, right after the nude mods...

Personally thought it looked great. Whats your idea of epic? and this must be what? 1/50th of the art in the game?

EDIT** also, you say you have to wait it out till it's cheap, you dont even know the story yet!? are you that much of a graphics whore? there's more to a great game besides textures. A game that can provide hundreds of hours of entertainment with huge replay value and you think it's only worth your measly 20-30 bucks? Personally I think that's a pathetic attitude.

Translation: new media of a game has been published and subsequently posted here on this forum, ostensibly for the purposes of evaluation and discussion.

By discussion, I really mean fellating the game and its developers to climax, so I hope you have something positive to say. Otherwise you're just a negative nancy and I will inundate you with vapid detractory remarks to the effect that you don't have enough information to evaluate the game (regardless of the fact that this very information is made available for the purposes of evaluating the game).

Oh, and PS: if your personal valuation of the game that I so fervently fellate is anything short of the launch price of $60, then you're a deplorable person whose demand curve is wrong. WRONG I TELL YOU.

You're welcome mjpd. I converted your nebulous indecipherable non-logic into something easily read and subsequently dismissed. smile.gif

This game looks GORGEOUS!!!

I cannot wait to play it!!!

I read some are upset that the graphics are too console focused, who cares? This isnt a realistic game, its a fantasy game - its graphics are supposed to be a work of art, not trying to be as real as possible, just because the textures will be somewhat low res and the lighting wont match crysis, wont stop it looking wonderful. It will have bright and vivid colourful landscapes, huge scenery and cosy-feeling-inducing weather cycles and will be a wonderful adventure smile.gif

But hopefully they have not dumbed down the RPG elements too much.

Okay that custom trailer was awesome. They should just let random joes make the damn trailers, they do a better job at it. Graphics looked a lot better than what I thought I saw before, though it isn't anything groundbreaking. I'm not impossible to please, but graphics start to matter when a lot of the games you play are extremely gorgeous. Graphics DO EQUATE TO GAMEPLAY. It is called immersion. But I think that these are a good enough base to start with, and after the modding community has their way, it'll be a true gem. I'll buy on day one midnight release most likely.
