Because it isn't meant to be "survival horror" in the typical regards. It's supposed to be action orientated, that's the purpose of it. It isn't necessarily about the zombies - it's about killing the protagonists of the series. It's made by SOCOM developers.
Explosions have always been a big part of Resident Evil to boot. In what Resident Evil game wasn't
there an explosion? lol Between putting explosive barrels in the mouth of a gigantic crocodile, to a rocket launcher toting super bioweapon, to every damn ending involving some kind of self destruct or nuke - there is always
explosions. I mean hell - even flamethrowers were major weapons.
I don't have a 3DS, so I wasn't aware of Revelations. WTG Capcom, publish your only horror based RE in five years on a handheld console few care about/own.
Upon further reading about the game, it does look like it's slated for a PC release, which surprises me considering Capcom's recent Anti-PC stand.
I also noticed you can shoot, and move at the same time. While that may make some people happy, I hate the idea.
That said, I'm still probably going to buy the game.
Is it PC headed? I didn't even know that. Cool stuff.
Although, I'm not aware of the recent "anti-pc" stand.
The shoot/move has been something that a lot of people have been arguing for in Resident Evil 4 and 5. Critics hate it too. Not to mention SOCOM again, but it wouldn't make much sense

Where do you see lots of ammo?
All the previews on major sites, like Joystiq particularly, last I read, have problems getting through the preview copies because there wasn't enough
Hell, I had problems with the demo version in the Mercenaries 3D - not that there was a whole lot in it.
As for health bars and damage numbers - that is Raid mode only. That's the purpose of the game mode. It's like an RPG style level system, and enemies/weapons scale with difficulty/progression.Edited by OmegaNemesis28 - 10/31/11 at 3:16pm
