The 4000 Dollar PC with Ivy bridge, need opinions. - Page 2

Defenty go watercooled loop and I'd say go down to 1000watt psu (leaves room for upgrade and who knows what kinda power ull need)

Keep the 16gb ram!
Go 128gb ssd (believe me it fills up fast always nice extra space)

8 core ivy wont be for a long time. early 2013 is the estimation.

so your going major overkill on everything, but skimping out with a 30-60gb SSD... yeah that makes perfect sense...

I have my hard disks on a 680 Raid controller. So data will be stored on that, OS and drivers on the SSD!

Don't skimp on the PSU. You have chosen a good one. There's no point to run you PSU to the max or close to the max. You will have lots more overclocking head room with better stability with a powerful psu. I had the Enermax 1050 and went to the AX1200. I was only able to overclock my 480's to 800/2000 on the enermax and 900/2000 once on the AX1200.

Are you planning on just a single monitor or surround/eyefinity? That would change things a little.
