evga gtx580 is best perfomring single gpu card ...get it

This could be a tide changer... i like that never heard of companies offering step up other then water cooling blocks for GPU's...

Thanks for all the help guys its given me a lot to think about... Its possible the lightnings are coming available in a week, so then i will think EVGA or MSI....

Anymore comments keep em coming

So now the dilemma, i want a 580 no argument, but i need to know which one is going to give me the best performance for gaming on one screen (for now) 1920x1080... obviously modern games, BF3, Skyrim, aswell as slightly older shogun 2, metro, Stalker COP, you know all them types....

So far im seeing, a few that are sticking out, im thinking since im only getting one screen. i only need 1.5gb of VRAM, and so im thinking either

EVGA SC 1.5 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1536m...-dvi-i-plusfre

Palit GTX580http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1536m...-dvi-i-plusfre

PNY the pny looks amazing but i havent heard to much about it.http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1536m...e-batman-arkha

ASUS Direct CUIIhttp://www.scan.co.uk/products/1536m...-hdmi-dp-plusf

Gainward "GOOD" http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1536m...dvi-i-plusfree

MSI LIGHTNING 1.5http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1536m...mi-dp-plusfree

I know this is a monster thread and i apologise, im gunna be looking to push this GPU to the max so overclocking is a must...

Thanks in advance
I'd advise either the Lightning extreme or the EVGA SC. I have both and they are pretty much top of the line.

If you're choosing an evga for it's customer service check that it applies to the UK.

I've got the DCII and it works great and very quiet.
It is a beast though and space may be and issue with sli in the future but I think I'll be ok.

Finally finished crysis so installed crysis 2 with the directx11 and high res textures.
Smooth as silk with everything turned up to max but that may be all 580s.

[edit]
this may be of use with regards to evga in the UK.

Can you imagine evga gtx580 classified OC to 950mhz with no voltage tweaking!
Thats almost 200mhz clock speed bump compared to vanilla gtx580's.
I would highly recommend evga gtx580 classifed 3gb over msi gtx580 lightning xe.

I'm running an EVGA SC and an ASUS DCII in SLI and the 3 slot card is kind of a bugger if you are wanting to run SLI and fit in a soundcard and maybe a wifi card too. Just something to consider.

Aright guys, im gunna go for the EVGA to be honest im a bit sick of waiting for the MSI to release and holding back my build date...

But answer me this

whats the difference between

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1536m...hdmiplusfree-b

This and :

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1536m...-dvi-i-plusfre

As far as i can see they are both 1.5 both SC, but the top one has DS ??? what the hell is DS... and it looks cooler but is cheaper... thanks guys

The DS stands for "direct shot"
its a reference card with a non-reference fan, nothing special in it as opposed to reference card except the cooler.
I have recommended you the EVGA GTX580 CLASSIFIED,not the superclocked version.
The Classified version is much better in terms of overclocking & cooling.
Hope this helps.
