[bf3blog] Battlefield 3 on Steam, according to new evidence - Page 7

It requires Origin to start up and play anyways. Buying it on steam would just add another freakin' program running while running it. If you have not bought the game because it isn't on steam then you are missing one of the funnest PC games in the last decade. It is simply amazing and optimized like nothing we have seen since the consoles took over. You people who are holding out for a team release need to QQ somewhere else. It doesn't matter!

There is no chance that steam would take the place of origin. EA won't have any of it, especially not this early into the release. Maybe, just maybe 6 or so months down the line, if Origin proves to be a total failure, then could it potentially be removed.
That being said, my issue is not with Origin. It is with Battlelog. I find it ridiculous that I have to be connected to the internet in order to launch any part of the game, INCLUDING MY VIDEO/AUDIO SETTINGS!!!
They really really need to scrap the concept of browser launching from this game, I complained about it during the alpha test, and I'm definitely complaining about it now.

Does it even matter if it comes on steam?

I don't even launch bf3 through origin, or even a icon on my desktop; I launch it from my web browser. I added the bf3.exe to steam but dont even use it because its one extra step clicking the icon on steam then your web browser opening and going to battlelog. Why not just go to battlelog in the first place?

People who think Bf3 will be so much better if it was on steam have no clue what they are talking about and have no clue how battlelog works, this is not a conventional game that loads up a menu and then you select sp or mp options.

One thing is for sure even if it comes on steam origin is not going anywhere. Those that are not getting the game because its not on steam are missing out, in the end if it comes on steam all you will be getting is the little bf3 icon on your steam list nothing more.

but bf3 is primarily a mp game that you need to be online for anyways, unless you are one of the few people (I dont know any) that play bf for the SP

They would rather have a little icon in their steam collection than play a good game. To them its not a pc game unless valve takes their cut. People in this forum are always crying that games are console ports but when one comes along that isnt they cry for the most stupidest reasons.

For the last time a game being on steam does not make it a good game, who cares what the launcher is.

BF games always have weird glitches that make it so frustrating that I eventually quit. There was a glitch in the BF3 beta that has been in there since BF2 (the first one I played, released in 2005) where you the med pack gets stuck when tossing out and the stuttering when you free fall has been in there atleast as long too. They also always under estimate the skill of people using air vehicles to the point where one good person in a helicopter can empty a server real fast or keep you from spawning. BC2 is my last battlefield until EA/DICE decides to stamp out the bugs. It has always had really annoying network/server connection issues too....
