UK MW3 Release - retail or digital?

I was looking to buy MW3 over steam, pre-load it so it'll be ready to play midnight GMT on Tuesday next week. But just looked on the Steam page and it's basically saying the game will be available to play from 10am GMT on Tuesday frown.gif
For BlOps last year I hoofed it into town and bought the retail disc from Gamestation, had it all installed by 2am and was able to play straight away.
Were UK BlOps steam download users able to play midnight GMT last year?

If I hoof it all the way into town and stand in the cold for an hour freezing my bollocks off will I be able to play before 10am GMT on Tuesday or will I have to wait like the digital downloaders? coz if I do make the effort to get the retail and install it and find I can't play till 10am the next day anyway I'll be so mad mad.gif

Go retail. Always. You get the disc, and the option to download the game whenever you want! It's a much better choice for the consumers IMO.
Retribution.

same with the digital download though - CoD is so heavily linked to Steam that without it you won't be able to play anyway - i.e. whether you have retail or not if Steam is down there's no CoD game time.

I bought MW2 and BlOps as retail discs and the only advantage I can see is that you get to play the game at midnight GMT as oppose to 10am GMT (I asked on Steam forum, consensus is that retail will be ready to play straight away, download will be 10am).

In the shop it'll be £5 more expensive and you don't get CoD4 free which Steam are doing at the moment (and I don't have, would mind a blaze through the campaign) plus it's a massive hassle coz I will have to go and pre-order this weekend then stand in the cold for ages to buy it on Tuesday.
I think it'd be best for an early night Monday, 9am start Tuesday, big breakfast then beastly MW3 session wink.gif
