Recommend me a (reliable!) wireless card

Thread Starter
Hey guys.

I have come to the point in life when I, all of a sudden, prefer a decent networking card. Wireless, as the title tells.

I've formerly used a few relative low cost cards - USB and PCI - none have been at least 90% stable. I'm getting tired of all the trying out (there are hundreds.... billions) and finally want to ask someone who actually knows a tad about it.

Which would you recommend ? Below $100, I'd prefer. PCI or USB, doesn't matter - however, something tells me PCI or PCI-e cards are most the suitable.
I live in Denmark, but I hope the products can be located anyway. Well, at least they should.

Thank you, and regards.

I've got a D-Link G520 which has served me well for the past 3 years. My room is located upstairs and the furthest away from the router (probably about 100m... Maybe more? I don't know, I'm crap at measurements tongue.gif) but my signal has never been below 4 bars (out of 5).

Great bit of kit and I always trust D-Link with their drivers/driver updates. smile.gif
Hope this helps you out.

Do you need Wireless N?

Take a look at these devices from Alfa Network, they're literally THE BEST wireless adapters out there.

Link 1
Link 2

They can be found between $60-$100

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I'll surely look into Alfa Network.
I prefer Wireless N but it depends on the product and the quality of the connection, of course.

Anymore inputs will be welcome.

If you don't require Wireless N, your ebst bet would be an Alfa AWUS036H 1W. I have one, works wonderfully.

This adapter is also good. Only downside is that it won't work on 5GHz networks.

this with ddwrt in client bridge mode.

if you look for it, it can be found cheaper. iv been using an e3000 and e1000 as a bridge for almost a year and have never had any issues with stability.
its been like having a fastethernet cable to my living room thumb.gif
