HELP!! BF3 crashes constantly, i need a hero

Hi all,

Not often i admit defeat but i'm out of ideas. BF3 crashes constantly after between 30secs and 5mins of play online. It freezes then drops to windows with the "app crash BF3.exe" error.

---Background---

I've been able to play the singleplayer and co-ops with relatively no problems, A few crashes lately on single player too though. I also had no issue playing the beta.

I've tried...(not in any order)

1. Uninstalling my ATi drivers with driver sweeper too, and reinstalling a few different versions (11.9,11.10).
2. Running different resolutions/refresh rates and on different monitors.
3. Changing the graphics settings from low, medium, high and ultra.
4. Turning off all my OC's and running all stock.
5. Turning off my firewall, virus and tuneup auto optimizer.
6. Disabling dual monitors and trying just one.
7. reinstalling punkbuster and running all the processes as admin.
8. Running the repair game thingy in Origin.
9. Closing all useless process's in the background to free up ram.
10. Disabling an MP3 splitter in my codec which can cause issue with games.
11. Run the DX diag from the direct x folder in BF.
12. Shouting and screaming at it!

I'm all but done with this game and could do with some ideas...save me OCN masses

Have you tried latest WHQL Catalyst 11.10? http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloa...win7-64.aspx#1

Clean up previous driver traces before installing Catalyst 11.10 above.

To clean up traces of previous drivers use this:

Atiman Uninstaller v.6.0.0.msi. Download LINK (Run it with administrator privilege. Some antivirus software will give a false positive. Let it restarts to complete the uninstallation).

Yes, i've tried the 11.10 preview and the new 11.10 WHQL released today. I also used driver sweeper to clean all traces of previous installs before I did...exactlly the same after both 11.10 and 11.9

Thanks for the replys guys, it does feel like i've tried everything at this point though lol

•Reinstall the updated drivers for your respective GPU.
•Here are the Links: NVIDIA – ATI
STEP 2
•Type cmd in run and run it as administrator.

Guess you already did this too?

1 Right-click My Computer and select Properties.
2 Click on the Advanced tab.
3 Click on Environment Variables.
4 Below the bottom Environment Variables window panel (System Variables), click on New
5 For Variable Name, enter devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices
6 For Variable Value, enter 1
7 Click OK to close Environment Variables and OK again to close System Properties

Open Device Manager, click on View and then select Show hidden devices from the menu.
You can identify the hidden devices by their grayed-out icons.

Go to the Display adapters and show your old cards.
Right-click the selected card and choose "Uninstall" driver on every one.

Restart and ok.

Downclock your GPU to stock settings and try. That's what we had to do for a friend's GTX 570.

Edit: That was #4. Try uninstalling your sound drivers completely. Start the game without sound and see if you can stay in.
