Need a new mouse steelseries xai or sensei

Okay so getting a new mouse between the end of the month to the next 2 months or so.

I am looking at the xai because it seems more like my first mouse i got for fps the intellimouse 1.1 (got for $3 dollars awesome deal). I dont like claw grip mices why i dislike my rat 5 now cant use it in fps. I am using the g5 and used the mx518 find them fine.

So which would you go for the xai or the sensei. I hear the only difference is sensei has lights?? if i dont care about those would the xai be a better choice?

Shape wise it's the same.
-The software I believe can interpolate higher DPI (useless IMO).
-It has LED's that can change color.
-coating on the sensei is very different compared to the Xai.
-Scroll wheel is slightly different
-same sensor (avago 9500)

If you do get this mouse I suggest you also grab a hard pad if you don't already. Laser sensors are best when used on hard pads and will work at its optimal performance.

I got a xai on the cheap the otherday - and it's a really solid performer.
The sensei is just a 'pretty-ier' looking xai really, with the price hiked up frown.gif

QcK Heavy is not a hard pad.

Can't recommend Xai/Sensei to you. Tracking is awful.

Lots of people are still pleased with that combination so I can't say if it works for you...

Stick with the 1.1.

IMHO Xai is a brilliant mouse, I just love the simple shape and structure.
The coating is providing a nice surface, scroll wheel works fine, build quality is reliable, software is better than most. But last you need a hard surface mousepad. I have the Qpad Heaton, which I really just love and yeah, I am sure that you will get a nice mouse either choice. If I were you i would just look at the differences and go after my personal preferences.

EDIT: Light would have been nice on the Xai
