well id try the thing at least, id still rma it as its not working. even if it was your fault, the profit they make selling just one covers the cost of making a thousand.

broken but fixable.. you will need to scavenge similar capacitors [yes thats what those little things are ] off of an old GPU.. or buy a broken 1x for cheap and make the repair. A steady hand and some solder is all those need to go back on.. then your good as new again.

Hertz 9753 was it put in freezer or was it heat the whole card in oven at around 200 degrees. I've heard of either the freezer or the oven just can't remember which it was.

Hi Knoxy 14,

First no they are not all the same. They have different MFD valies and if they are not caps they may be resistors. CL3P20 recognizes them as caps. There should be a number on those flat pack caps that designates its rating. The chances of finding them at Radio Shack is probably not very good, but it's always worth a try.

BTW if you try to solder parts on that get some paste ELECTRONIC soldering resin and paint it on the area around where you are soldering. This will prevent the solder from forming bridges between the other contacts in the area. DO NOT USE ACID BASED SOLDER PASTE!!!!
Good luck and hope this helps

yes they are differences.. for the most part, they are there for 'storage' and filtering power.. as long as they are the same size of larger, the values of the capacitor will not be so drastically different that the vMEM will not work.

*I usually double those caps on vmod'd cards to help with memory circuit and poor power supply/regulation. You can pretty much knock them off and replace them at will... even a standard electrolytic cap will work in their place.
