Trouble with mic in Windows 7 and X-Fi Titanium

Hey guys I'm having a hard time getting my mic to work right. Don't get me wrong I plug it in and Windows 7 sees it right off the bat. I can even talk into it just fine...

The problem is though when wearing my headphones I hear constant noise while the mic is turned on....

I could have sworn back in the day my mic was completely quiet and I would only hear something if I pressed a button to talk.

I had this same problem. Make sure that your headphone wire isn't really close to other cables like your power cable. It could be wire cross talk. Also, try disabling all unused audio devices. That helped me in the past. Hope this works. PM me if you have any more questions. I tend not to check threads I post in.
