Hi everyone,
I have a asus p8z68 deluxe and i cant get it too boot quicker then 50 sec to desktop, ive changed bios settings and updating to latest bios 902, changed boot order and a bunch of other typical win 7 settings to make pc run faster but nothing is making a real difference, any help would be awsome...

Boot time is very dependent on your HDD speeds. The CPU can only get Windows up and running so fast without the info it needs.

Make sure you have quick boot enabled that will cut a small amount of time out of bios.

Also make sure your drives are Defragged recently. This will make sure the heads arent wasting time reading all over the place.

Search around for a Windows 7 guide aswell. There are some things you can kill in boot up to save a little time.

Yes, it is very dependent on your HDD, but another thing to look out for is your POST times. For ASUS Z68 boards it should be around 14 secs, although my POST time changed from 13.7 sec to 16+ sec after flashing from 0706 to 0801.

Be sure to disable all integrated peripherals you dont need to help speed up POST.

However 50 secs on a mechanical drive is great. Moving to a highspeed SSD should bring that down to around 20 secs.

Finally, try using sleep more instead of shutdown, which is super fast to wake
