Occasional hard lockup when folding overnight

Hi! I am currently folding on my sig rig, SMP and GPU. However, every few days while I am away it will completely stop responding, and I cannot get anything, not even numlock on the keyboard to turn on. I have to force power down.

My rig passes stability tests, for 48+ hours. My GPU is running at stock speed. When I restart the computer, I get no error messages, so I cannot tell what went wrong. Is this a stability issue due to an overclock, or a PSU issue? I cannot tell. Is there a logging system for windows I could use to track the issue down?

Thank you!

I would go ahead and say it's definitely an unstable overclock. I'd go ahead and reset it back to stock and see how folding does while it's at stock.

Will do, though I only have it at 2.8 Ghz. I will get a better HSF soon, and see if temps are an issue. (Or low volts)

You might not be feeding it enough voltage regardless. To just eliminate any software issues or other issues, just set it back to stock for now, and if the issues go away then you know it was an unstable overclock. Also, if it's unstable, you can then try again and hopefully achieve stability.

So were you able to figure out if it was an unstable OC?

If so, did you go and try again to OC with some different settings? Like more voltage and such?
