Voltage handling and regulation options are MUCH more robust on the ASUS.
BIOS update should solve the issue...

So this isnt an issue anymore? I've used Asus for so long, and LOVE the P8Z68-PRO.

But I thought I'd give GB a try this time.

Roger that. Your board is a beast, and one that i planned on buying for a long time now. Lots of reading up on it - got my hopes up and everything.

I'm >-< this close to pulling the trigger on it. However, thinking i'd try gb this time I thought I'd ask around before i shot myself in the foot

OTOH: Does DVID aka offset bring any benefit over SVID on GB boards when the later has the power section talking to the CPU and deciding on optimal lowest stable Vcore on-the-fly at any clock?

To answer my own questions: After some searches it seems SVID+EIST works fine at least when you disable the higher C3 and C6 states in bios, which is fine for a desktop. As anyone who uses Adobe Premier or Avid Pro Tools will know, C3/C6 are the main cause of glitches while bare bones EIST will still drop CPU power consumption to a respectable 16.5W.

Well, my research is mostly done. Hope this was in in some way useful to OP and others wondering about the same thing.

Big vdroop
Couldn't get stable at 4.8 no matter what voltage really, and now I am on my asus.
Terrible boot loops, sometimes I had to take everything apart and take the CMOS battery out to reset the cmos just to boot up.
Also the one I had (z68x-UD4-B3) had terrible PCI-e slot placement, my sound card was basically suffocated.

I have a UD4. Vitality is 100% Correct. No option for Sound Card once you use Dual GPUs especially like me 2 x Tripe Slot, There is a Boot Loop Problem when you press Restart, I still cant get my 4.8Ghz OC Windows Stable but its Prime 95 Stable. Its needs heavy Bios updates. Asus is the tight choice. I got it because i found it for very cheap $120.
