At the moment I have a 21.5" Dell at 1920x1080 and a BenQ at 1280x1024 both a few years old and have been looking for replacement/s.

I was toying with the idea of 3 monitors and was going to get three of these that are 1920 x 1080 LED backlit LCD 24" and priced those up at under £500 (including purchasing one from a member on here) which I though was quite reasonable BUT overthinking things as I usually do and changing my mind on more than one occasion I have now decided to go with a larger higher resolution screen with one of the monitors mentioned previously as a side screen. SO any suggestions on screens would be good. Price wise I don't really want to go above £500 but if I am asking the impossible then I would go a little higher. Resolution I would like to see as high as possible. So over to you guys!

If buying into monitors now, 120hz is the only sensible option. You won't regret it if your an FPS gamer. The monitor below is on offer for a very decent price and to be honest, i'd get 3 of those. Sure it's over you £500 budget, but it very worth saving up a tad more for these.

EDIT: I noticed you now want 1 Large screen, but i still think surround is a much better option.

Yeah, those TN panels suck. Ghosted viewing angles along with washed out, purplish colors. One big, quality monitor > 3 ****ty ones IMO. You're looking for something like a 27'+ VA/IPS panel. This one's an S-IPS, there're a little better like H-IPS out there, but meh. It's worth the price.

The cost of those isnt beyond what I could spend (don't tell the mrs)
A question though.. 3D.. It's not something I factored into my monitors. I'm going to have to have a google see what games etc are out there the thought is appealing!

Forget the 3D mate, it's about the 120Hz. Most people buy 3D Monitors simply for enhanced refresh rate.

That I do like the look of the only thing would be the non brand. Are they a subsidiary company of a better known brand?

I believe so, it says Hitachi underneath. It's all rebadged stuff anyway. For example, most manufactorers order H-IPS panels from the IPS Alpha factory. You can't go wrong with any of these high end panels. They're all quality regardless of brand. Those 21 inch panels that claim they're IPS (E-IPS) are budget garbage though.
