May I suggest multicam for the case....its the latest and greatest in camo which many spec ops are switching over to since it works so well.

OMG... I looked, I thought mmm would that work it might as it has a bit of everything, then I done this quickly in googlesketchup (found massive texture for the camo)

Sold me over the other desert style camo tbh, I did like green camo for this, but once the rifle got involved i thought the camo had to have tan in it, I think you sir need a salute as I think this may be the style i will try to replicate on the case.

Thanks, I will post some more in a few hours as I managed to get some done yesterday on custom side panel, Just a bit of elbow grease to put in with some sand paper, to compete it.

Well got round to doing some more work yesterday, just mainly got the side panel done

382
317

Just got to put some elbow grease into the rubbing down to smooth it all out, Also thought I would try something out and found a little fancy dress item on ebay for a few quid/dollars.

188280

Stripped it down to test placement roughly to see what it looked like (although this can change if it does not look right once the camo is done). Why I was there, I thought I would try a test fitting of the side panel with etch in rough place.

The window will be up a little higher of course once mounted as I did not secure it, just masking taped it in.

Why I was there, I thought I would mock up the HDD tray security system, this was done by using a small sensor switch and a bit of mechano to help keep the enclosure secure when inserted.

A clean up is needed, but I will prep this as well to have it done like the rest, Some one very helpful also pointed this camo out to me, so plan is to do camo like this for the mod.

Until next time guys tongue.gif

Yea MultiCam is awesome.

It is getting VERY popular with our troops. It blends in EVERYWHERE!

If you are located in the US. I could get you some real ammo on links, 5.56 which is used in the M249. I could also just get you stuff without powder or primers so its as "volatile" as those plastic ones you have. It would just be a copper/lead projectile with a brass casing.

If your in the Army, and going to Afghanistan, you get multi-cam. It is a lot better then the ACUs and is made of a thicker material it looks like. I cant wait to get multi-cams.

Damn, another offer I can not take up due to the fact I am in the UK, Under crappy uk law, if it looks real on the ammo side its a no go i believe but i would check into it, but I defo think it was a no go, it was hard enough getting the ok to use the replica weapon in this mod, the hurdles I had to go through and legal stuff I had to read up on just to get a loophole to use it... let alone get customs to release it..

I think the weapon was hard enough to get into my hands so Ill have to look into the ammo, side of things. the ones i have plastic and can be squashed by hand tongue.gif, obviously I would like the real thing though (not live of course).

Great minds think alike, I actually spent the weekend filling and smoothing up the side panel edges, today I am going crazy and roughing the edges i smoothed off and making them look tatty a bit (for the battle hardened look).

Also some products turned up, will try to get photos up today or tomorrow the latest.

Lack of updates has been down to man flu, but now thats cleared up i can get cracking.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, and a case of the man flu and it hit me hard, was in bed for 6 days, anyway more to the point back on with the mod.
My first task was to fill and smooth out the sides for the panel that I had made, this involved some filler and a lot of elbow grease.

264

Now for the really crazy part…. After all that hard work making it even, you know its Battlefield themed so I have to now try to turn it into a worn used look.

261
261

Crazy I know, but I want this desired effect (darker effect in clear areas) to give that worn feel.

Why we are here I might as well show the product that turned up as well, well in fact a few things turned up, I’ll just add one today and take pictures of the rest today or tomorrow..

This is the Calibur11 Battlefield 3 Vault for Xbox 360 Slim, by some miracle I managed to convince Calibur11 to supply one for the mod, just so I can steal some parts from it.

This is how it would look on the Xbox 360

328
280

It also is made for the PS3, In fact calibur11 make quite a few nifty themed products for both the Xbox and PS3. The second image above should give you an idea of the parts I am going to take from the Donor Battlefield 3 Vault.

252

One half smoke grenade and of course the Claymore

273

What is great about these, is the fact as with all the calibur11 vaults all the items and attachments are screw mounted on so you can place them virtually any place on the vault, the best bet is though that calibur11 will be offering the accessories for all their themed vaults separately soon and they have some pretty cool items that I can be seen used on PC mods. Check out what I mean here.

That’s all for now but expect some more updates more regularly now man flu has gone wink.gif
