When you guys says S.M.A.R.T works fine on your motherboards and SSD's, do you mean that you can read the numbers at all, or do you mean that your values are as they should?
Like can you see your work time/power on time, data written and so on?

Cus that's my problem, I can see values, but they are so wrong and they don't work at all.

I won't get down with this, I will continue to contact Gigabyte support until they admit it's their board failing or until they do something about it, until then the war has only begun.

Thanks

SMART works in AHCI mode on the following:

M4A78LT M-LE
M4A89GTD Pro.USB3
Fatal1ty 990FX

The only hitch is that with SMART enable, random BSOD's happen and once I get a crash when overclocking, the SSD is no longer recognized by BIOS. If I disable SMART I never have this problem.

So SMART works in AHCI on AMD, it just has glitches with the SF-22XX drives. might have been fixed with recent firmware upgrades though. I haven't tried re-enabling SMART.

Ok thanks for your answer.

It's not my SSD, because I first thought it was, so I sent it back to Intel and got a new one back, and it's the same problem.
And Gigabyte also admits it should not be working, so I'm 100% sure it's my motherboards fault.

The only thing I can find on my motherboards page are RAID drivers, do I really need those? Anyways, if I download "AMD Chipset Drivers" it just installs CCC (cataclysm control center) for the onboard GPU I assume, or?

Technically that wouldn't solve the problem because Gigabyte already stated that it should not work.

Okay, can you give me any sources from AMD stating that S.M.A.R.T and AHCI doesn't work togheter?

Because as I said I have spoken to multiply people saying they can use both S.M.A.R.T and AHCI at the same time on their AMD systems.

Thanks
Gigabyte answered:

No I cannot, since this is not a feature of the chipset, and needs to be added as a separate part of the BIOS.
Did he just admit that it's Gigabyte being lazy not putting it in the BIOS, or?

Can you guys give me any tips what I should write or ask so that Gigabyte will admit it being their fault and not AMDs?

Thanks

I don't think they code their own BIOSes.. For an example my Asus has an American Megatrends BIOS if I'm not mistaked.

You could ask them why isn't that tested before the boards are released, and why didn't they install a decent BIOS on it in the first place. But I doubt that simple tech support can or will answer those Qs
