[EGM]Battlefield 3 Lead Platform Switched to consoles mid-development - Page 12

MP maps like Metro and Demavand Peak are made for Rush more than conquest thus they sucks. They made this game with PC and Consols in mind so they are trying to tailor it towards both audiances like it or not.

Honestly, this puts my fears at ease because I was really wondering why the PC version was such a cluster#$@#. This explains why the menus are so horribly laid out. Also I have heard in numerous places that VOIP is coming soon. So I have hope that they will patch in and fix what they left out because they couldent get it done in time to meet the release date.

That's a shame.
EA puts games on shelves instead of the arrogant "when it's ready" approach some devs take.
Some devs think their game will sell no matter what. Then after all the hype their game sucks balls.

There comes a time when a game has to be released or it will never get done.
BF2 was six years ago and BF3 was three years in development, should they have taken another year? Why? PC gamers are never satisfied, so just release the game already.

I just want to throw this out there. BF3 doesn't have any weapons with clips. They all have magazines. The only weapon BC2 had that used a clip was the m1. For the love of god please quit calling magazines clips.

Quite seriously, I can't believe the level of immaturity being displayed by people who are whining and suddenly finding everything wrong with the game.

It is a multiplatform game, and they had a deadline to meet. The elitism in the pc-camp (from some) is sickening. The presence of bugs in battlelog, etc. is not necessarily an indicator or "console port". You know what? In the real world, programs have bugs. My word.

Yeah, the aim-assist thing is most likely a dead give-away (reminds me of Crysis 2, lol).

That argument is really hard to take when so many simple things were not included in the release of the game. VOIP, joystick support, a menu that could be severely improved, server queuing, ping in the scoreboard, TV Missile that is terribly glitchy.
If this doesn't hint at a game that was prematurely released then I don't know what would. I can understand game play issues that may need addressing and obscure bugs but VOIP and joystick support, how was that not addressed early on??

And to top that off it seems so many more issues were only addressed in the last 30 days prior to launch due to Beta feedback (accessing the menu when dead, being able to quit while dead, a minimap worth using etc..)

The game can/will be great, but its just disappointing the lack of polish it has currently.

Just wanted to point out that there is joystick support for the game.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Firestorm, but you're just loco in the head if you think these maps are anything comparable to Battlefield 2. Gulf of Oman was one of the medium/small maps in BF2, and it's at least twice the attack area of Noshahr Canals or Kharg Island.

Sharqi Peninsula is one of the more infantry based maps in BF2, and it dwarfs Caspian Border in attack area. The outer edges of flight only zones does not make a map. It means little to the actual objective based gameplay. It's like talking about off-screen real estate in an RTS. It's meaningless if it's not engaged by the game rules.
The only thing about the big BF3 maps are that the control points are closer compared to BF2. I also find the vehicles faster in BF3 compared to BF2 so you can cover ground much quicker. There is a lot of open space in firestorm kharg island and caspian border that most people don't use because of how close the control points.

And please do the fraps thing
What's going on.
