What's missing PC Gamers?
Not much is "missing," per se, it just seems like we got an awesomely cinematic and motherofgod.jpg type game in place of huge maps with spread out and strategic control points. Before you say "BF3 has huge maps," yes it does, but the actual area that sees any action is extremely compact compared to BF2. Do you remember Dragon Valley? 10 control points. Caspian border/Operation firestorm = 5 control points.

I personally love the map designs, I like all 9 maps. I don't feel at all that there is less square area with action. Obviously the empty fields with hills won't have much action, just like in Dragon Valley (the mountain area just south of the US docks).

Yes, there are less control points, but I really like the layout of those control points. Every flag area I've seen I've thought "wow I really like how this was laid out," for example the checkpoint, gas station, and forest on Caspian, or the filling station, warehouses, and construction sites on Firestorm. BF2 had too many maps that were left unplayed or were very unpopular, like Zatar, Fushi Pass, even though they were pretty good. I feel that the 9 maps on BF3 are all well accepted by the community and all of them are featured on plenty of servers.

Well I understand what you mean, but I still don't think that justifies how console development degraded the games quality. For one thing, I think that the reason they made maps not so much wide open and big wasn't because of consoles at all, more they were trying to appeal to audiences who liked those types of maps, who liked more close quarters maps, while also remaining somewhat true to their roots.

If they didn't tell us this, you guys wouldn't have known. The game is fine, it's tons of fun, and it's not broken. But BECAUSE they revealed this secret, you feel the need to complain over a perfectly fine game because consoles became the primary platform later on in development.

Who cares if they are? If the game works well, then does it really matter? The answer to that is no, but majority of the PC gaming crowd will NEVER be pleased. Which is why we're not given top priority.

The only problem i see is that they said numerous times that it was made for pc and then consoles.

It's EA and DICE - what can we expect anyway.

True the game itself is fine.

Even if they didn't tell us that, it's so so obvious just by looking at menus, the way they where made and then there battlecrap which is there just so they don't need to implement server browser in-game, thus making PC and console version even more identical.
