2. I do miss the bridges, but found that in BF2 it was annoying as most of the times the Engineers wouldn't bother repairing them.

3. I highly doubt the current comm-rose is the final version we'll be getting.

4. I find the flags to be perfectly spaced apart, where it doesn't take you a noticeably long amount of time on foot to cover the distance.

5. I'd say all but one map (Metro) has many alternate routes in every direction.

1 - How?

2 - Lol...

3 - The final game has a beta/alpha version of something?

4 - Go play Firestorm (it is the best example), or any conquest map 3-4 of the flags are bunched amazingly together, while 3/4 of the map is open wasteland that snipers lay on.

Also, some more stuff to add

5 - Recon is now useless unless you intend to camp 24/7

6 - Rush is a complete mess, why are vehicles even on this game mode, and why are the spawns so close?

7 - I has no VIOP, in a game that promotes teamwork as one of the main aspects of the multi? really? come on.

8 - Constant rubberbanding, crashing, problems launching the game through battlelog. This isn't the Beta, I don't care if it just launched, its a launched game, these things shouldn't be a problem.

Not really a problem, but I feel there is something wrong with it

9 - Advertising PC as the main platform throughout the whole thing, even though it wasn't true

EDIT:
Also, PC gaming IS dying, but in the eyes of elitist PC gamers. I know OCN is about the best, but acting like an asshat and thinking your above somebody because they want different things to you doesn't mean that they are bad.

Likewise, what makes it so you should get anything more than a console game? When you cry and scream at developers "WHY WON'T YOU MAX MY GTX 580?? WHY ON EARTH, CRAPPY CONSOLE PORT crappy RACE GET OUT I WILL NEVER BUY YOUR GAMES AGAIN CAUSE OF DRM."

They try their best, but consoles always will be the biggest profit margin for them, and they know that. The graphics can be that of a console and the game can still be awesome, can't it? Why does it have to look better than console for it to be a good PC game?

Also, on the DRM
Battlelog = Ultimate DRM, Can't do anything without internet/origin = Its alright, its pretty cool, by the way I LOVE YOU DICE AND EA
Ubisoft DRM = Online = I HATE YOU UBISOFT, IM GOING TO BOYCOTT JEW

6 - Rush is a complete clusterF***, why are vehicles even on this game mode, and why are the spawns so close? Agreed, either more or less vehicle, having like two tanks in the whole round is crap

7 - I has no VIOP, in a game that promotes teamwork as one of the main aspects of the multi? really? come on. Battlelog has VOIP and is actually alright, they point this out whenever you party up

8 - Constant rubberbanding, crashing, problems launching the game through battlelog. This isn't the Beta, I don't care if it just launched, its a launched game, these things shouldn't be a problem.Agreed, but It is not that unusual for a newly released game

It has a few bugs and all but I don't find it as bad as some people are saying.

The point on VIOP, it shouldn't be required for you to get every random in your squad to add you on battlelog then make a party for VIOP, it simply just takes too long and will end up with way to many friends that you don't want. If they had squad VIOP ingame though.

But the main thing that fuels their aggression is the fact that game developers seem to be neglecting PC gamers, and its even more painful when developers that originally found success on PC move on exclusively to consoles.

PC gamers don't deserve anything more than consoles gamers... but they do deserve at least the same amount of respect, and there are countless games that have either had very little effort being developed for the PC OR in most cases not even appearing on it at all!

So I guess the main reason why it seems like irrational hatred is because most are just angry that developers are neglecting the PC platform, and that frustration is shown in an unpleasant way. And it's as if 'preaching' about all the perks of PC gaming out publicly will encourage more people to at least try the platform out instead of ignorantly dismissing it. Maybe then PC gaming would become more popular and maybe then developers will care for us again.
You're taking a victimized stance based on fallacies.

My disdain is towards those that spread vitriol and characterizations, not those that have well though out concerns and can argue their point in a non-biased way.

Not only is PC more popular than consoles world wide, but most console gamers own PCs that can play games as well since integrated graphics have become so capable in the last few years. PC is respected as a gaming platform, I don't understand where you get this notion from especially since it has more exclusive games than all consoles combined - Just because they're, for the most part, not games that use the latest graphics API doesn't make them any less games. To suggest otherwise would come off as extremely elitist and would only underscore the sentiments that gamers and developers of other platforms feel about PC.

I can defend PC gaming far better than anyone on this forum even though it's not my preferred platform.

PC is respected. It has by far the largest grassroots indie development community... So it's a bit ironic that people claim PC is ignored as a platform and elitist PC gamers turn their nose up to gamers of other platforms.

It's irony that such grassroots communities and such elitism can coexist on the same platform.

BF3 is a great PC game period. I have had so much fun playing it so far, Its one of those games that really stands out. I dont care what is the lead platform as long as it continues to be awesome. Dice already gave a lot of love to the PC version so I really cant find anything to complain about aside from some easily patchable weapon balance issues.

DICE even reported that joystick support may not be supported upon release but would be in the first patch (not including day 1 patch).
Theres nothing wrong with having joystick support , i like to sit on my couch sometimes and play with the controller on my 42" LCD .. works great on bf3 , i am against consoles i wouldnt use a ps3 if you gave it to me for free .. but i do like controllers , gives me a nice break from the keyboard and mouse always .

If it didnt have controller support , there would of been complaints ..

+1 - Great post bro. I wish I could rep it more than once.
I especially agree with the last bit, but only for threads in the news section.

Only, those of us who don't live under a rock have known this the whole time. It's not like it wasn't obvious from the very first gameplay footage, never mind beta, or even release.

Not once did I say PC user, I used the term 'PC gamer' several times in my post. Clear distinction must be made as the majority of the PC's in use today aren't used for gaming and in some case not even configured to play games at all. Hence, talking about PC's as a whole is irrelevant - I'm talking more about PC gaming and its respective gamers.

The point I was trying to highlight was more on how game developers who originally released successful franchises/games on PC moved on to consoles exclusively. You wouldn't call that a stab in the back, or at least a blatant show of neglect?

The other point was on how more and more games seem to have less effort put into development in porting the games to PC, whilst the console version do not have these imperfections.

A few random examples:
Dead Space 1; mouse movement is out of sync. It has never been patched and there is no way of actually fixing it. Playing the game is difficult to play with mouse, due to the out of sync mouse movements.

Saints Row 2 having extremely bad optimizations resulting with it putting excessive load on your hardware or having to reduce your settings (defeating the point of using a high end PC, when you could easily play other games that have looked much better).

Resident Evil 4; No mouse controls!(None what so ever) Low res textures. No uninstaller (you have to manually delete it bit by bit).

... I could name a few more games but I guess you get the point. I mean even games like Mortal Kombat Kollection which was meant to release 31st Augest on PC, Xbox live and PSN. The date came and went, with it releasing on Xbox live and PSN, but not PC - there wasn't even any word of how long it would be delayed... there still isn't. I mean this is just one example highlighting the bigger picture. I wouldn't call none of the cases above 'fair' for PC gamers.
