CFX 6870s to 6990

Obviously 1 6990 is > then CFX 6870s but my question is how much performance difference would one see? Also while we are on the subject of 6990s, would CFXing to of them be overkill? I'm for it and really tempted but just wondering if any one has gone from this to that?

As I understand it, the 6990 is roughly equal to two 6950s in crossfire, so you can look at this for reference: 6870 CF vs 6950 CF.

I don't think you should do it though, since 6870 CF is pretty much beast in everything. If you must upgrade, I'd get two 6970s.

I don't think I will either but they look... really... nice.... I think it's just a case of me getting the "unnecessary upgrade bug"

sigh

Plus I think this beast or beasts would need to go under water and I have yet to do a water build so I'm kinda nub in that area but I told my self my next one would be.

Start a thread in the Water Cooling section. I'm sure they have lots of users willing to help.
