Modding 790FX BIOS to include latest AGESA for Bulldozer support

Thread Starter
I've started to dig into GA-78LMT-S2P BIOSes to find and extract the latest AGESA table so I could insert it into my GA-MA790FXT-UD5P BIOS. To date I haven't had a lot of chance but I've just stumbled upon MMTools and AMIBCP (see this thread http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherboards/742636-how-view-bios-before-flashing-add.html).

Does anyone have had any luck on doing this? I'd really like to enable this and add SLI support at the same time (I'm running on hacked SLI Windows).

Just how are you going to get the AM2+ socket to fit an AM3+ chip? The pins are different, hence the black socket. But good luck regardless. Gonna miss my DFI 790FX when i upgrade.

The GA-MA790FXT-UD5P is an AM3 motherboard with DDR3, not AM2+. The only reason there's no support for Bulldozer on 790FX is money. There's a lot of low end 760-770-780 motherboards that support Bulldozer already. And the AGESA should be standard between BIOSes of the same manufacturer.

Ok, you didnt say 790FXT in the title, so i went with the 790FX which is AM2+ at best.

Its a little more risky with motherboards that don't have dual bios like Gigabyte. In case something goes wrong you'll have to reflash your BIOS using an eeprom programmer or hot flash your BIOS with another motherboard.

You can install am3 processor on asus m4a79 deluxe 790fx however, your limited to ddr2 memory. The ddr3 processor controllers will be inactive
