Leaving laptop on laminate flooring?

Thread Starter
For years I left my laptop running for long periods of time on a carpet surface. Not best practice I know but I was a bit careless about my current laptop.

I've since got laminate and wondering if it is safe to leave my new system running for long periods on it? I wont be doing heavy gaming but will be leaving it on for long periods overnight when downloading. Is this safe?

If you put maybe a deck of cards under it for better air flow it'll prolong the life of your laptop.

If you could put something on all 4 corners that would be even better for cooling, since it allows more air to pass through the bottom of your laptop vs one constant hotspot. but just alone on the laminate floor is okay too.

Laminate is fine. I do agree with the idea of propping up the back to improve airflow even more.
