SLI crapping since i flashed GPU bios. (GTX570 DCII) - Page 3

I have problems getting SLI to work when I use the drivers available at the Asus website for the ENGTX570 DCIIs (I have x2 SLI as well). I'm able to get SLI back by using the drivers recommended by Asus for the GTX 570s instead. Have you tried using different drivers (older, in this case). Go here and maybe give these a shot?

http://support.asus.com/download.asp...BmUPe9H5QdS4xb

If I go here and use these drivers (or even the drivers that came with the card), SLI will not work for me no matter what I try.

http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/N...0MD5/#download

Don't ask me why, I don't understand it. Maybe this will work for you.

Edit: Well poo. I just verified the links and realized they updated them for both. I'll take a look at my current drivers and let you know exactly which one's I'm using when I get home from work.

Both cards work fine without SLI. Also they work fine in different PCIe slots. If you look at OP screenshot in Device Manager there is USB Device error, could be related to motherboard/chipset.

@Boulard83,

Could you confirm that motherboard main and backup BIOS are identical of same version number?

Edit:

I don't see what motherboard in your system specs, but would it be possible there's something in BIOS you have to enable or disable so the PCIe bandwidth are not shared by other devices such as USB etc?

The USB with !!! are the USB3, i didnt installed USB3 drivers ( wich i never install ... i dont have any USB3 hardware yet ).

The mobo is the sig rig. Maximus IV Extreme. SLI was working before GPU flash.

I backup my main bios to secondary chip, then reflashed main bios chip to fresh 2001 bios ( latest ). Still no SLI.

I will try something, i just had an idea. My second GPU was 1025mv for stock clocks, ( lesser bin gpu ). My flash is 950mv stock as my main card was. Maybe the card can boot with 950mv alone, but cant when SLI. SLI is often harder on clocks/volts.

Ill reflash with 1050mv as stock volts with default clocks. To be sure ....

Looking at the GPU-Z, both cards have identical BIOS version excepts the letter b and the other one is B. What does that mean?

Which card is not detected? The one without PCIe 2.0 disabled?

Are you running win7 x64? Try a system restore to a date before you flashed the cards but when they were in SLI. Unfortunately, you might need to reinstall windows -- that was the only solution that seemed to enable SLI for this guy.

@ Spin
Read my post PLZ ... its ALREADY done ...

@ Ken
In the pix you showed

The one to the left is in slot #1
The one to the right is through NF200 slot #4.

I tryed slot #3, wich dont pass trhough NF200 and its not working better.

I dont know about the B and b ... they are both flashed with exact same BIOS. Even flashed in DOS the last time to be sure. Booted both card.

This morning i had time to test the first card, been able to run over 925mhz OCCT gpu error test without issue.

I am running out of idea. Later, after you flash the card with 1025 mV and if it doesn't work, try to reinstall/update motherboard and chipset drivers.

Guess you have tried all possible combinations of PCIe slot/switch?

Ill reflash with more stock volts to be sure.

If it dont work, ill go back from start. Format, reflahs MOBO bios, réinstall windows whyle bios default, install drivers, and see if it works.

Thanks all for ideas !

SLI back and working ....

I was in the process of flashing with latest bios from Nvidia but the bios updater they provided told me my bios arnt "recognized" last time i used it with 285 driver.

Today i tried the updater, and BAM worked with driver 280. Updater flashed a few times the command prompt, its NVflash but automated ....

Reboot and BAM SLI is back ...

At least i know i can bring it back if i flash again

Strangely one of my card is still at 1.2v MAX, i think the updater flashed ony one card ? but they were both flashed with the same, both flashed indepently ... Ho well. At least it work !

Flashing for volts and im back

EDIT !

very strange ... i flashe card 2 using car 1 backup ( currently working ) bios. NO SLI ! ! ! !

Reflashed with Asus utility ... SLI is back ... nvflash is doing something wrong when flashing ?

there is a shot of the backup bios. Backup that are supposed to be fresh from Asus utility ...
