AMD 1055T Overclock

Thread Starter
I am fairly new at overclocking and I've read countless threads on how to overclock the 1055t.

At the moment, I have a mild overclock @ 3.5GHz with stock voltages.

I want to get the clock up to 3.8~4.0GHz.
The question here is I don't know what I should do next. I understand there is no unlocked multiplier on the CPU, so I have to increase the core clock. I just don't know how I should go about doing it. I tried to increase the clock to 275 and bumped the voltages up on the CPU to 1.4v and the north bridge to 1.2v. I left the memory at or below the stock clocks.

When I booted up with those settings, I just get a black screen and I couldn't boot into windows. I've had this problem before trying to get even 3.7GHz. I thought a 3.5GHz overclock with stock voltages meant I had a pretty good chip. I'm guessing not? :[

My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-870-UD3.
I have 8GB of Gskill Sniper DDR3 1600MHz (1.5v)
I have a 750W PSU ( Eco-Element )
One HiS Radeon HD 6970.

Try underclocking the memory. I dont know how your leaving the memory at stock speeds with overclocking via the core clock. I believe by raising the core clock your ram and nb automaticly go up also.
Worse than crack.

Every chip is different, so if it's not booting at 1.4v @ 4GHZ you need to up your CPU voltage again. Keep bumping it by 0.01v untill it boots, then stress test it. BSODs usually mean it still wants more voltage. Once you get it somewhat stable then start backing it down by 0.001v to find your lowest stable voltage. Then finish it off when at least 12HRS of Prime95 to insure your entire system is fully stable.

Use x5.33 memory multiplier and push to ~300 bus clock.
