Question about Corsair 400R/500R

Thread Starter
I would like to know the exact width of the 400R/500R. On newegg it says the width is 8.1'', but I would like to be sure because as you can see, the side panels on this case ''go out'', if you see what I mean. I don't know if they included this factor when they calculated the case width. I know this may sound stupid to ask this question but for my it's a critical point because my desk and fit cases that are about 8.2'' maximum.

Thanks.

just measured my brother's. it's 8.1 inches exactly, not accounting for the side panels.

each panel sticks out a whole inch, btw. doesn't look like it's going on your desk.
