Can You Recommend Any Hard Drive Recovery Software?

Thread Starter
I have a 500GB hard drive that became corrupt. I had to create a new partition on the hard drive in order for windows (or any OS) to recognise it. I need all my images back and some home production videos. I have been using a recovery software, however this software seems to be terrible. I only wanted to recover image files at first but this software is all or nothing. I ran the recovery software and left my PC on for two days straight, when I came back it was on 8%. When I tried to recover the 8% the software just sat on 0% all day and did nothing. Terrible.

Is there any software out there that you have used that doesn't take years to recover files and that actually worked?

Thanks.

I should have mentioned that I would like freeware, no software that costs or is a demo. Usually demos limit you to recovering 1GB or some other annoying stipulation.

Thanks.

I know, I also found and tried this but did not work, maybe you have better luck. Also I had no use of free data recovery software, didnt find my files.

Try Easuse Partition Master . I use it all the time for partition management, but I haven't tried partition recovery. If it's as good as the rest of the program, it should work for you. It's free for home use.

I recommend Piriform.
If it didn't worked for you the first time, I would check advanced configuration to see if the are some switches that may help you.
I also recommend to run a first time with fastest settings (and save recovered files on another physical drive) to quickly recover data most likely to be fine, and then try a deeper scan.
