i cant find a I5 2500 (non K)

ok im looking for a I5 skt 1155

im not overclocking so i dont need the 2500K as the unlocked multi is a waste

i will be selling my I3 2100 in january but i cant find a I5 2500 for a good price
its always more £$$£ than the 2500K

any help is appreciated

If the i5 2500 is more expensive than the i5 2500k, then just buy the i5 2500k and don't overclock it.

Also, all desktop i5's have no hyperthreading.

ok thanks thought they did have HT since my 2100 got it

well i will try to find a cheap 2500K or 2600 for HT

Well, you can't really go look at the 2x00 part. It's the i3, i5, and i7 part of the name that determines what the processor has.

i3 has 2 cores with HT so 4 threads.
i5 has 4 cores with no HT so 4 threads (stronger than i3)
i7 has 4 cores with HT so 8 threads (except for the i7 970/980/990x and the 3rd gen i7 3690x (did I get that number right?), which have 6 cores with HT so 12 threads)

thanks guardian looks like i will go for the I7 2600 found some for £150+ with HT on i can then fold and game at the same time

fold on 4 cores then i have the rest for games ect
