on the Corsair Blog there's a brave dude who set up a Hydro model cooling loop on his VGA card with sinks. He had instructions on how to mod the locking ring.. it was pretty impressive..

Lol once again, you're talking out of your ass. If you looked at benchmarks or at the 100's of threads on this board you'd see they are effective coolers. Just because they aren't as good as a full loop doesn't make them ineffective, not to mention they are a fraction of the cost and have a warranty.

Well they could use a heatsink plate for the vrm's and such.

And as for the rad, well make it a tripple rad, a Corsair 800D can hold it fine.
