Uh oh... fix Gentle Typhoon?

So I'm currently doing a few mods and one of them is painting my fans. Naturally I have to remove the pin behind the sticker to do this, however it has gone the way of a broken boomerang and is lost as far as I can tell for now. any fixes or do I need to order a new fan...?

You might be able to use some wire to replicate its functionality.

like thin wire wrapped around the axle in the groove?

Something like that. If it's not staying, you might be able to drop some super-glue or hot glue in there, but the glue might gum up the bearing.

go to home deopt and ask then if they got any super small washers... thats what your refering to correct or do you mean teh pin because if its the little clip thing you can get a small paperclip adn break part off adn use that?

I'm talking about the little c clip that holds the fan in position on the bearings (sits in the little notch on the end of the axle). It is way to small for any paper clip I have seen haha. and I'd rather not use glue on a $15 fans bearing

Ahh .

When you said pin, I was thinking a pin, not the c-clip.

Yeah, if you can find a small washer that is about the right size, you could cut it to the shape of the c-clip.

Oh yeah haha sorry bout that. I'll see if I can fashion something that'l work and report back... in the mean time I'm painting the internals of my pc which you can checkout in my build log below .

Alternatively you could buy a cheap fan and see if it has the same clip, almost all of mine use exactly the same clip and groove mechanism to hold the blade to the frame so I presume the gentle typhoon uses something similar.

Worth a shot if you've got a cheap fan lying around anyway.

Manufacturing that piece out of a thin scrap of metal sounds nigh impossible. I would, also, tear through any other fans I had laying around to source one.
