Stop spreading misinformation.
The tax software was storing it's APPLICATION DATA in the AppData folder. Simply put, the guy freaked out when he saw something like "Quicken" flash past his screen in the process sniffer. AppData/Quicken doesn't store anything other than settings for the application.
Furthermore, all financial software stores information in encrypted databases. I doubt EA has a decryption team sitting around pulling apart people's data. That would be expensive and a HUGE waste of time for a company that publishes video games.
People are freaking out over nothing. Either way, if you have information you don't want anyone but you to see, make sure it's encrypted no matter what. A guy with a thumb drive and your idle computer is more dangerous than spyware could ever be.Edited by SectorNine50 - 11/1/11 at 8:49pm
