Solved - Just Delete Mods

It's supposed to come off. What you can do is stick a small screw driver in one of the holes, and then tap on it with a shoe or a book to loosen it. Do this to all four corners, alternating, and then it should come off.

Well I got it off. Although it left behind some paper residue, important to get it off? If so how.

I don't think it's that important. Obviously it wasn't causing any harm before, so it shouldn't do so now. Depending on where it is, you could get a lint free cloth a little damp, and then try to gently (<-KEY WORD) "scrub" it off. Then use some canned air to dry the region before turning it back on.
